GUN VIOLENCE PREVENTION LEADERS ENDORSE FEUER FOR CONGRESS

Calling Mike Feuer an “absolute champion in the fight to prevent gun violence,” prominent leaders join Karen Bass in supporting his campaign.

LOS ANGELES— The support for Mike Feuer grows stronger, as two of the leading fighters against gun violence announce their endorsement for the candidate. Ann Reiss Lane, the Founder of Women Against Gun Violence, and Kris Brown, a national gun violence prevention leader, have both announced their support for Feuer.

“Mike Feuer is an absolute champion in the fight to prevent gun violence. He and I have worked very closely together for more than twenty years, and I’ve always found him to be a tremendously effective advocate, leader and lawmaker. Mike leads with vision and courage, and gets remarkable things done. As gun violence continues to rip through our nation, we need Mike Feuer in Congress. He has my strong endorsement.”

“I urge everyone who cares about preventing gun violence to join me in supporting Mike Feuer for Congress. Mike is a powerful leader on gun violence prevention, authoring many of the strongest laws in the country and bringing together prosecutors across America to press for solutions to this epidemic. He will bring this same commitment, tenacity, and resolve to the halls of Congress as an effective representative for the people of California’s 30th District.”

—Kris Brown, national gun violence prevention leader

Mike Feuer is widely recognized as one of the nation’s most innovative and effective leaders in grappling with the public health and safety emergency of gun violence. His record of leadership on gun violence protection surpasses any other candidate in this race.

“Our families need strong, urgent action, not thoughts and prayers, to stop gun violence,” said Feuer. “That’s the leadership I’ll provide in Congress, just as I’ve done throughout my career. Lives are on the line and it’s well-past time we acted like it.”

Feuer received the Courageous Leadership Award from the Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence (now Giffords). The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence named him California Legislator of the Year. He also received the Advocate Award from the Brady Center; the Courageous Leadership Award from Women Against Gun Violence; the Outstanding Leadership Award from the Legal Community Against Violence; and the Angel of Peace Award from the Violence Prevention Coalition of Greater Los Angeles.

As Los Angeles City Attorney from 2013-2022, Mike co-founded and co-chaired the national nonpartisan coalition, Prosecutors Against Gun Violence. The Obama Administration invited Mike to the White House, where he presented gun violence prevention strategies to governors, mayors, and lawmakers from across the United States.
